Chili Con Carne

Ingredients
  • 1 lb – Ground Beef
  • 2 medium – Onions, chopped
  • 2 – Green Peppers, chopped
  • 1 lb 12 oz – Crushed Tomatoes
  • 8 oz – Tomato Sauce
  • 4 tsp – Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp – Salt
  • 1/2 tsp – Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp – Cayenne Red Pepper (or Hot Paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp – Cumin
  • 15.5 oz – Red Kidney Beans, drained
  • 8 oz – Grated Cheese: American, or Cheddar, or 4 Cheese Mexican blend
  • Olive Oil
Preparation
  • Cook and stir Ground Beef, Onions and Peppers, in a large skillet, over medium high heat until Beef is browned and onions are translucent
  • Except for Kidney Beans, add remainging ingredients; mix well; heat to boiling
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes. (Or cook uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
  • Add Kidney Beans and continue to simmer for 10 or 15 minutes more.
  • Serve with Grated Cheese
